แนวทางการส่งเสริมความรู้เพื่อป้องกันอันตรายจากสารเคมีกำจัดศัตรูพืชในกลุ่มเกษตรกร: บทบาทพยาบาลเชิงรุก

ประเทศไทยมีการนำเข้าสารเคมีกำจัดศัตรูพืชเพิ่มขึ้นอย่างต่อเนื่อง เพื่อส่งเสริมการผลิตทางการเกษตรและเพิ่มรายได้ให้กับครัวเรือนของประชาชน ส่งผลให้เกษตรกรเกิดปัญหาด้านสุขภาพ โดยเฉพาะในกลุ่มเกษตรกรที่มีความเสี่ยงสูงต่อการได้รับพิษจากสารเคมีกำจัดศัตรูพืช เนื่องจากเป็นผู้ใช้และสัมผัสสารเคมีกำจัดศัตรูพืชทางการเกษตรโดยตรง สารเคมีกำจัดศัตรูพืชแบ่งเป็น สารกำจัดแมลง สารกำจัดหนูและสัตว์ฟันแทะ สารกำจัดวัชพืช และสารกำจัดเชื้อรา พิษของสารเคมีกำจัดศัตรูพืช แบ่งเป็นพิษเฉียบพลัน และพิษเรื้อรัง โดยพิษเฉียบพลันมีอาการเล็กน้อยจากการระคายเคืองระบบทางเดินหายใจ ผิวหนัง ไปจนถึงอาการรุนแรงทำให้ระบบหายใจล้มเหลวจนถึงเสียชีวิต นอกจากนี้พิษเรื้อรังอาจก่อให้เกิดความผิดปกติทางพันธุกรรม ส่งผลกระทบต่อระบบสืบพันธุ์ การก่อโรคมะเร็ง พยาบาลทำหน้าที่ในการสร้างเสริม ป้องกัน รักษา และฟื้นฟูสุขภาพของเกษตร โดยเฉพาะการให้ความรู้ในการป้องกันพิษจากสารเคมีกำจัดศัตรูพืชที่ถูกต้องในเรื่องการเลือกใช้ การเตรียม และการใช้อุปกรณ์ป้องกันตนเองทั้งก่อน ระหว่าง และหลังการใช้สารเคมีกำจัดศัตรูพืช รวมทั้งการเก็บรักษาและการทำลายภาชนะ การปฐมพยาบาลเบื้องต้นเมื่อได้รับสารพิษ และการส่งต่อการรักษากรณีที่เกิดการเจ็บป่วยรุนแรง นอกจากนี้ พยาบาลยังมีบทบาทสำคัญในการสร้างความตระหนักรู้ และให้คำแนะนำที่ถูกต้องแก่เกษตรกร การเสนอทางเลือกในการเลือกใช้สารเคมีกำจัดศัตรูพืช จะช่วยลดโอกาสเจ็บป่วยจากพิษของสารเคมีกำจัดศัตรูพืช และเสริมสร้างความปลอดภัยด้านสุขภาพให้กับเกษตรกร
