การศึกษานี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อศึกษาพฤติกรรมการใช้สารเสพติดของผู้ใช้แรงงานเกษตรใช้วิธีศึกษาเชิงคุณภาพ ข้อมูลถูกเก็บรวบรวมโดยการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกในกลุ่มผู้ใช้ยาเสพติดจำนวน 104 คน กลุ่มตัวอย่างเลือกจากสถานประกอบการเกษตร และสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกในกลุ่มผู้ประกอบการเกษตร 17 คน วิเคราะห์โดยใช้วิธีการวิเคราะห์เนื้อหา
แรงงานเกษตรที่ต้องพึ่งพายาเสพติดเพื่อคาดหวังผลของฤทธิ์เพื่อเสริมแรงในการทำงาน นอกจากนี้แรงงานรู้สึกว่ายาเสพติดทำให้พวกเขารู้สึกปกติ ผ่อนคลายมากขึ้น และช่วยให้พวกเขาคิดงานได้ชัดเจน แรงงานเกษตรรู้สึกว่า ยาไม่ได้ส่งผลต่อประสิทธิภาพการทำงานหรือความปลอดภัยของพวกเขา แต่ส่งผลต่อการได้รับค่าตอบแทนที่เพิ่มขึ้น
