The roles of occupational health professionals on of hormone replacement therapy in menopause employees.

Menopause usually occurs เท women between the age of 45-55. It can cause significance obstacles for female employee of this age group in their working place. Symptoms, when present, may include: hot flashes and skin flushing, night sweating, insomnia, anxiety, mood changes, vaginal dryness, ischemic heart disease, osteoporosis or even fracture. These problems can sometimes arise from the ways work and working conditions affect women’s health around the menopause period. The treatments of menopause may not necessarily include the use of hormonal replacement therapy. A role of occupational health care giver is to advice menopause women at workplace to physical exams every year, including a mammogram, pelvic examination and Pap smear to detect physical problems as early as possible. If menopause workers do not want to take hormonal replacement, there are other ways to relieve some of the problems. For example, light cloth dressing, and drinking of cold drinks could help them relieve some degree of the symptom of hot flashes at their workplace, they should also drink less coffee, tea and other drinks that have caffeine and drink less alcoholic and take more rest. The should be advised to take more food that contains high calcium such as milk, cheese and yogurt. If they are allergic to milk products, they should take other kinds of food rich in calcium, such as broccoli, dark green vegetable to prevent osteoporosis. As for vaginal dryness, commercialized form of jelly cream such as KY jelly is a good option they can buy without any prescription.
