FACTORS RELATED TO THE DECISION-MAKING ON VOTING IN THE MEMBER OF COMMITTEE ON PROFESSIONS UNDER THE HEALING ARTS PRACTICES ACT TERM 2025 – 2029 AMONG HEALING ARTS PRACTITIONERS

Abstract

     This research aimed to analyze (1) personal factors, expectations regarding the control of healing arts practices under the Healing Arts Practices Act and the decision-making in voting for member of committee on professions among healing arts practitioners; (2) relationships between personal factors, expectations regarding the control of practices, and the decision-making in voting for member of committee on professions for the B.E. 2568 – 2572 (2025 – 2029) term; and (3) suggestions in the decision-making in voting for member of committee on professions for the B.E. 2568 – 2572 (2025 – 2029). This cross-sectional Analytical research surveyed a sample of 780 eligible healing arts practitioners for the B.E. 2568 – 2572 term. Data were collected via questionnaires with an IOC of 1.0 and a reliability coefficient of 0.946. Statistical analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Chi-square test, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and content analysis.

     The analysis results found that (1) The overall expectation regarding the control of the practice of the art of healing, according to the law governing the practice of the art of healing, was at a high level (  = 49.80, S.D. = 5.61) .The overall decision-making process for voting for member of committee on professions was also at a high level (  = 74.72, S.D. = 7.02). (2) Factors that were found to be statistically significant (p < 0.001) in relation to the voting decisions for member of committee on professions for the B.E. 2568 – 2572 (2025 – 2029) term among practitioners include the branch of the practice of the art of healing and expectations regarding the control of practices. (3) The most frequent recommendations from practitioners of the art of healing who exercised their right to vote for member of committee on professions were that they want to be informed of the candidate’s policies and visions rather than just their educational background or work experience, and they also suggested that candidates should provide introductory video clips.

     Recommendations: Budget and personnel should be allocated for public relations regarding the operations of member of committee on professions in consumer protection within the healthcare system and professional development. Furthermore, professional committees should be encouraged to plan and study the certification of specialized knowledge and expertise in each professional field more clearly.
