This cross-sectional study aimed to examine the factors related to dental service provision in primary care units in Health Region 11. The sample consisted of 400 personnel working in primary care units, including Sub-district health promoting hospitals, Urban Community Health Centers, and primary care units within the primary care network in Health Region 11. The sample size was calculated determined using Taro Yamane’s formula, and stratified random sampling was employed, stratified by province with proportional allocation based on population size. The research instrument was a researcher-developed consisting of five parts. Content validity was assessed by three experts, yielding an Item-Objective Congruence Index (IOC) ranging from .67 to 1.00. The reliability of the instrument was examined using Cronbach’s alpha coefficient, which were .88, .91, .92, and .93, respectively. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and multiple linear regression analysis. The results indicated as follows
1. The overall level of dental service provision in primary care units in Health Region 11 was at the "agree" level (M = 4.33, S.D. = 0.46). Among the dimensions, dental health promotion and disease prevention had the highest mean score, followed by dental treatment services, proactive and integrated dental public health services for different age groups, and management and academic services, respectively organizational support factors, including management, budget, personnel, and materials and equipment, significantly influenced dental service provision in primary health care units in Health Region 11. The regression model explained 48% of the variance in dental service provision (R² = 0.48), indicating that systemic and organizational support factors play an important role in enhancing the efficiency of dental service provision at the primary care level.
2. Organizational support factors, including management, budget, personnel, and materials and equipment, had a statistically significant influence on dental service provision in primary care units in Health Region 11. The model explained 48% of the variance in dental service provision (R² = 0.48).
This shows that system factors and organizational support play an important role in the effectiveness of dental service delivery at the primary care level.
