In November 2021, data were collected through a self-administered questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics including prevalence, proportion, percentage, mean, standard deviation and inferential statistics using 95% confidence interval, Chi square test and Independent Samples t-test.
The results indicated that most of the samples were female (87.3%). It was found that the proportion of village health volunteers with appropriate knowledge was 11.4% (95% CI: 6.38 - 16.40). Regarding guidelines for COVID-19, it was found that the sample group had correct guidelines for COVID-19, receiving an average score of 6.31 points out of 8 points. Therefore, public health agencies in the community should pay attention to promote knowledge development about COVID-19 and other epidemics in the community for village health volunteers continuously and consistently.
