Keywords:
model development, prevention and control on tuberculosis, tuberculosisAbstract
This research and development study aimed to develop and examine the effectiveness of the model of prevention and control on Tuberculosis (TB) operation, multi-phase in Mix Method designed was employed in 4 phases during 2017-2020 by developing a prototype and was implemented in 10 districts, Suphanburi. Assessment of satisfaction before and after using the developed model in 173 TB workers, 120 TB patients, and 346 active-screening TB risk groups were randomized in Song Phi Nong district. Data were analyzed using content analysis, descriptive statistics, and Paired t-test.
Results showed that the developed model is appropriate. After using of the model, it was found that 1) the sputum replacement rate of new and recurrent pulmonary TB patients decreased from 72.3 to 69.4 per 100,000 population 2) the success rate of treatment for new and recurrent TB patients decreased from 85.4 to 82.7 per 100,000 population 3) coverage for treatment of new and recurrent TB patients increased from 55.7% to 66.4% 4) coverage of screening among at-risk people with pulmonary X-ray increased from 6.4% to 76.0%, and 5) satisfaction among healthcare workers, patients, and TB risk groups, had an average score increased statistically significant than before using the model (p <.05).
