HEALTH PROMOTION BEHAVIOR OF NURSING STUDENTS AT RAJABHAT CHAIYAPHUM UNIVERSITY

This survey research aimed to study health promotion behaviors of nursing students, faculty of nursing, Rajabhat Chaityaphum University. Three hundred -thirty of 1st- 4th year nursing students willing to participate in this study. Data collection by using health promotion questionnaire. Data analyzed by percentage and standard deviation.
The result, participant characteristics showed that most of them were a woman (93.03%), aged between 21-25 years(63.31%), most of the participants were taking care of by their parents (93.94%), healthy (95.4%), normal BMI (74.24%), and the source of information they accessed was Facebook (75.75%).Health promotion behaviors showed that overall health promotion behaviors were median level (=2.93, SD =0.37). However, when considered in each aspect the results found that good level was including the aspect of the relationship between a person (
=3.39, SD=0.53), the spiritual development aspect (
=3.21, SD=0.5), stress management aspect (
=3.15, SD=0.49) and the median level was including health responsibility aspects (
=2.65,SD=0.71), exercise (
=2.54, SD=0.67) and nutrition (
=2.7, SD=0.4)
Suggestion from this study, administrator and relative organization should promote nursing students' health promotion behaviors with education and provide continuous health promotion activities especially health responsibility, exercise, and nutrition, to enable nursing students having appropriate health-promoting behaviors and being a role model in health promotion.
