Abstract

The objectives of this research were to study the levels of happiness, Flow at work, and quality of work life among healthcare personnel in the Nakhon Nayok Provincial Public Health Network, and to examine the relationship between happiness and work flow with the quality of work life among healthcare personnel in the same network. The population consisted of 3,149 healthcare personnel. The sample comprised 342 healthcare personnel, determined using the Krejcie and Morgan (1970) Stratified random sampling and Simple Random Sampling. The research instrument was a questionnaire on happiness, Flow at work, and quality of work life. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics—frequency, percentage, and mean—and inferential statistics using Pearson’s correlation coefficient.

The results revealed that the overall level of happiness was at a “happy” level (𝑥̅ = 68.87, S.D. = 7.22). The overall level of work flow was high (𝑥̅ = 3.65, S.D. = 0.51), and the overall quality of work life was also high (𝑥̅ = 3.75, S.D. = 0.48). The analysis of relationships showed that happiness had a moderate positive correlation with quality of work life at a significance level of .01 (r = .473, p < .01), while work flow had a high positive correlation with quality of work life at a significance level of .01 (r = .680, p < .01). Moreover, happiness and work flow were found to have a high positive correlation with each other at a significance level of .01 (r = .564, p < .01). These findings indicate that both happiness and work flow are important factors influencing the quality of work life among healthcare personnel.
