FACTORS RELATED TO DENTAL HEALTH CARE BEHAVIOR OF SENIOR ELEMENTARY STU- DENTS IN KHAOYA SRIBUNPOT , CHANGWAT PHATTALUNG

Abstract

This research is a cross-sectional survey aimed to describe the oral health care behaviors and factors related to oral health care behaviors among upper primary school students in Khao Ya subdistrict, Sri Bot district, Phatthalung province. The sample group consisted of 141 individuals, selected using stratified random sampling. Data was collected using questionnaires and analyzed using chisquare statistics.
The research findings revealed that the level of knowledge regarding oral health care was moderate, with 51.10% of the sample group having moderate knowledge. The overall attitude towards oral health care among the sample group was also moderate, with a mean score of 51.10 %. The perception towards oral health was high, with a mean score of 53.90 %. The access to dental services was moderate, with a mean score of 68.10 %. The access to oral health information from various media sources was also moderate, with a mean score of 71.60 %. The social support for oral health care was moderate, with a mean score of 70.20 %. The overall oral health care behavior was moderate, with a mean score of 77.30 %. The perception towards oral health had a statistically significant relationship (p-value = 0.05).
