Perception and performance according to the role of Village Health Volunteers the area of Mueang Nakhon Si Thammarat District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province

Abstract

This research aims to study the perception and performance of the role of village health volunteers in the area of Mueang Nakhon Si Thammarat District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. The target group includes village health volunteers who have undergone training according to the curriculum for village health volunteers in the area of Mueang Nakhon Si Thammarat District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, totaling 26 people. Data were collected using focus group discussions and in-depth interviews, with content analysis and interpretation.

The results of the research found that village health volunteers are aware of their 8 main roles and are able to perform their duties according to their roles. Village health volunteers, as the 1^st doctor, together with the 2nd and 3rd doctors, including a multidisciplinary team, were accepted in their roles rather than being village health volunteers before the development was upgraded to village health volunteers, especially in the matter of using technology in practice. Every village health volunteer can do a good job. Problems and obstacles included lack of individuality according to policy roles and spatial roles, as well as lack of exchange of knowledge and experiences within the group of village health volunteers themselves and related network partners. Make the practice different according to each individual’s potential.
