Evaluation School-age Children's Oral Health Promotion Project, under Chonburi Provincial Health Office

Abstract

This quantitative and qualitative research aimed to evaluate the oral health promotion project in school age children of office under Chonburi Provincial Health Office according to the CIPP model, in aspect of context, input, process, and product by studying in a specifically selected sample with a purposive sampling method with a total of 140 persons. The data were collected by using the personnel questionnaire, in-depth interviews. Analyzing quantitative data was done by statistics, frequency, percentage, average, and standard deviation. Qualitative data was analyzed by using content analysis.

Findings found that quantitative and qualitative data were consistent. The results as a whole, had a high degree of suitability. The Contextual aspect, it showed policies, objectives, targets, indicators are consistent with the plan, had a strong driving force linking policies within the province but quality indicators of oral health promotion project should reflect to cover all processes to achieve the goal in time. The Input aspect, had a qualitative measurement and evaluation process, set challenge KPI goals and develop supervision and follow-up but lacks the effectiveness of linking information to the oral health risk management strategy. The information has been returned to the area and can be pushed forward to develop preventive operations linked to oral diseases in a concrete way and found a limitation of budget and manpower. The Process aspect, had a comprehensive service system, health literature system and showed the development of a whole network of services and the participation of all levels of health service networks is good, but should improve access to oral health promotion and comprehensive dental services. Develop a linkage to the treatment referral system and dental health information. The Product aspect, the overall found that, service arrangements have been upgraded in both the oral health promotion and the comprehensive dental treatment. As a result, caries among children tends to decrease, but has not yet achieved its target. Dental health behavior, brushing behavior and efficiency tend to improve. Therefore, the policy should focus on promotion, prevention and integrated treatment. Create a network to exchange knowledge. Develop a system for referring treatment and information.
