Preventive healthcare has gained increasing attention in recent years, leading to the growing popularity of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), which emphasizes a holistic approach to health care. This study aimed to investigate satisfaction among patients receiving services at the Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinic, Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine Center, Health Region 8, Udon Thani Province. The objectives were: (1) to examine the level of patient satisfaction, (2) to analyze factors affecting patient satisfaction, and (3) to propose recommendations for service improvement and development. The sample consisted of 260 patients who received services at the TCM clinic. Data were collected using a satisfaction questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, including mean, percentage, standard deviation, t-test, and p-value.
The results revealed that overall patient satisfaction was at the highest level. When classified by gender, there was no significant difference in satisfaction levels. The mean satisfaction score for male patients was 4.86 ± 0.19, while that for female patients was 4.66 ± 0.28. When classified by service aspects, the highest satisfaction was found in personnel, followed by service/appointment scheduling and facilities, respectively.
Regarding opinions and satisfaction before and after receiving services, most patients reported a high level of understanding of the treatment prior to receiving services (40.4%) and the highest level of readiness for procedures (67.0%). After receiving services, most patients reported the highest level of satisfaction with the gentleness of the procedures (63.1%), as well as symptom relief and increased relaxation (65.0%). In conclusion, patients receiving services at the Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinic, Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine Center, Health Region 8, Udon Thani Province, demonstrated the highest level of satisfaction across all dimensions, including personnel, service and appointment scheduling, and facilities.
