Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • This work has not been previously published or is not currently under consideration for publication by any other journal. (If applicable, please explain in the message to the editor.)
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • This study has been prepared in accordance with the submission format required by the Kalasin Hospital Journal, both in terms of the format and citation style, as outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • All authors acknowledge that their names will appear in the work to be submitted for publication. In the case of a thesis, the thesis advisor has been informed and has consented to the publication of this work. Additionally, a signed consent form for the publication of the article by all authors should be attached.
  • The research has been approved by the Ethics Committee for Human Research (Ethic Committee). The author is required to attach the document certifying the approval.
  • Please provide the contact phone number of the author for communication and coordination purposes.
  • The authors have thoroughly read and understood the publication ethics guidelines and strictly adhere to them.

Manuscript template

The Kalasin Hospital Journal is an academic publication aimed at disseminating scholarly works, including research articles, academic articles, case reports, and miscellaneous public health knowledge. It serves individuals and organizations seeking to study or conduct research and promotes the professional development of public health personnel. Authors wishing to submit manuscripts should prepare them according to the guidelines to ensure a smooth and efficient publication process.

Types of Articles

The following types of academic works can be published:

Research Articles
These are original studies presenting new findings that have not been previously published or are not under review in any other journal.

Academic Articles
These are articles derived from the synthesis of knowledge on a specific topic, compiled from existing literature or the authors’ work and experiences. They may involve analysis, critique, or comparison to deepen understanding or clarify the subject matter. This category includes scholarly articles in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, public health, and medical sciences, as well as analyses of healthcare management topics that are deemed beneficial.

Case Reports
These are interesting case studies, such as rare injuries, abnormalities, or diseases, including cases where innovative methods or tools were used for patient care.

Miscellaneous Articles (Miscellany)
These articles include other knowledge-based or informative pieces related to medicine, public health, or the environment. They can also include innovations, system improvement initiatives, or articles promoting understanding and collaboration among public health practitioners and stakeholders.


Manuscript Preparation

Manuscripts should be prepared using Microsoft Word for Windows on A4-sized paper. Use TH SarabunPSK font, size 16, single-spaced. Leave a margin of 2.5 cm on the top and bottom, 3 cm on the left, and 1.5 cm on the right. Page numbers should be included on every page. The content should be concise, clear, and no longer than 12 pages.

  • Author Information: Include the author(s)’ name, qualifications, position, and workplace in both Thai and English below the article's title.
  • Abstract: Provide an abstract in both Thai and English before the article content, along with 3-5 keywords in both languages.
  • Language: Articles should use Thai in accordance with the Royal Institute's standards, avoiding English in Thai text unless necessary. Abbreviations should be avoided except for widely accepted terms. English terms should use lowercase letters, except for proper nouns.

Research Article Format

  1. Title

    • Should be concise and clear. Use size 16 bold font, centered, in both Thai and English.
  2. Abstract

    • Includes objectives, research design, methods, results, and conclusions. Write in both Thai and English, with a length of no more than 300 words.
  3. Keywords

    • Provide 3-5 keywords in Thai and English, following alphabetical order.
  4. Content

    • Introduction: Highlight the importance, background, or problem leading to the research.
    • Objectives
    • Research Methods: Describe the design, population, sample size calculation, sampling methods, research tools, their validation, pilot testing, data collection, and analysis.
    • Ethical Considerations: Explain how participants' rights were protected.
    • Results
    • Discussion and Conclusions: Provide interpretations and evaluations of results with references to principles or theories for support.

    Note: The content must not exceed 12 pages. Manuscripts exceeding this limit will not be reviewed.

  5. References

    • Use the Vancouver referencing style with numbered superscripts in the text. A minimum of 14 references is required.
  6. Tables, Figures, and Equations

    • Tables: Number tables sequentially and reference them in the text (e.g., “Table 1…”). Provide explanations below the table.
    • Figures: Number figures sequentially and provide captions below. Every figure or table must be referenced in the text.
    • Equations: Center align equations.

    Note: Tables and figures should not exceed five in total.

Referencing Guidelines

  • References should be listed in Vancouver style, numbered in the order they appear in the text.
  • Avoid using abstracts as references.
  • Avoid referencing personal communications unless the information is crucial and unavailable in public sources. If cited, include the name and date of communication in parentheses.
