COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ACCORDING TO SARANIYADHAMMA PRINCIPLES OF LOCAL ADMINISTRATIVE ORGANIZATION ADMINISTRATORS

Abstract

Community development based on the Saraniyadhamma principles by local administrative organization administrators is a process of improving individuals and communities through positive change. It involves harnessing the power and cooperation of community members, government agencies, and local organizations to address problems and promote progress in areas such as quality of life, livelihoods, economy, society, politics, and governance. The aim is to enhance the standard of living and overall well-being of the people by integrating the six Saraniyadhamma principles. These Buddhist teachings serve as practical guidelines that foster unity and support effective, efficient work toward achieving development goals and promoting cultural peace in educational institutions. The key elements include metta-kāya-kamma (loving-kindness in physical action), metta-vacī-kamma (loving-kindness in speech), metta-mano-kamma (loving-kindness in thought), sādhāraṇa-bhoga (sharing of resources), sīla-sāmaññatā (harmony in moral conduct), and diṭṭhi-sāmaññatā (harmony in views). Applying these principles in community development, along with encouraging public participation through information sharing and education, helps reduce conflict and build mutual understanding.
