Factors contributing Quality of Life for elders in Huai Tha Chang Subdistrict, Khao Yoi District, Phetchaburi province

Abstract

This descriptive survey research has the objectives to 1) study the level of quality of life of the elderly, 2) analyze factors that affect the quality of life of the elderly, and 3) create a prediction equation for factors that affect the quality of life of the elderly in the subdistrict. Huai Tha Chang, Khao Yoi District, Phetchaburi Province The sample group is elderly people aged 60 years and over in Huai Tha Chang Subdistrict, year 2024. The purposive random sampling used the elderly population of Huai Tha Chang Subdistrict, totaling 398 people. The tool used in the research was a questionnaire, the reliability of both questionnaires. The version is equal to .837. Statistics used in the analysis are frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation. and statistics for multiple regression analysis The results of the research found that 1) the level of quality of life of the elderly Overall, it was at a high level. 2) Factors affecting the quality of life of the elderly. It was found that personal factors such as gender had an influence on the quality of life 10.60% and health behaviors regarding emotional management had a significant influence on the quality of life 21.20%. Statistical significance at the .05 level and 3) The prediction equation for factors that affect the quality of life of the elderly includes: Gender has the power to predict influence on the quality of life of the elderly. The prediction equation is the prediction equation in the form of raw scores (Y’) Y = 3.679 + .080 and the prediction equation in the form of standard scores (ZY’) Y = .106 and the emotion management factor It has the power to predict influences on the quality of life of the elderly. Suggestions from the findings are : Public health officials should promote health care behavior among the elderly. Helping the elderly to be financially self-reliant, including creating knowledge and understanding about caring for the elderly for families and communities, helps create social support.
