Fundamental Guideline for Risk Assessment for Mass Gathering in Thailand

In 2548 B.E. (2005), Thailand began implementing the International Health Regulations (IHR 2005), a pact among member countries of the World Health Organization, to enhance disease prevention and control systems to meet international standards. Thailand received recommendations for high-priority measures from external expert panels assessing compliance with international health regulations, specifically in the area of inter-country health coordination, the role of the National Health Security Coordination Center. Consequently, Thailand developed basic risk assessment content for large-scale gatherings under coordination guidelines, preparedness, and response to public health emergencies related to mass gatherings, enabling relevant agencies to efficiently coordinate and respond to health emergencies, including health promotion, disease prevention, detection, and response to diseases and health threats, through coordinated practices, preparedness, and emergency response related to large-scale gatherings, following appropriate procedures and consistent work standards, as well as improving action plans and work standards to enhance coordination and response to public health emergencies related to large-scale gatherings, effectively managed by relevant agencies
