Abstract

การทำหมันถาวรในสุนัขเพศผู้โดยฉีคสารละลายซิงค์กลูโคเนตเข้าลูกอัณฑะ เพื่อลดจำนวนประชากรสุนัข โดยทคลองทำในสุนัขจำนวน 79 ตัว เป็นสุนัขไม่มีเจ้าของที่เลี้ยงในที่สาธารณะ จำนวน 8 ตัว สุนัขไม่มีเจ้าของที่เลี้ยงสถานพักพิงของเทศบาลนครสมุทรปราการ จำนวน 20 ตัว และสุนัขมีเจ้าของหลายสายพันธุ์ จำนวน 51 ตัว ตั้งแต่เดือนมกราคม 2550 ถึง เดือนเมยายน 2551 รวมเวลา 16 เดือน ผลการศึกษาพบว่าการฉีดสารละลายซิงค์กลูโคเนตเข้าในลูกอัณฑะสุนัขสามารถทำให้สุนัขเพศผู้เป็นหมันถาวรได้ ซึ่งเป็นวิธีการควบคุมจำนวนประชากรสุนัขได้ดีวิธีหนึ่ง
