Potential for Promoting Early Childhood Development with the Local Wisdom of Parents in Kok Sung Subdistrict, Mueang Chaiyaphum District, Chaiyaphum Province

Introduction: Parents play a crucial role in promoting early childhood development by incorporating local wisdom into their parenting practices. Appropriate knowledge and attitude will help promote the potential to promote early childhood development.
Objectives: 1) To study the level of knowledge, attitude, and potential for promoting early childhood development with the local wisdom of parents, and 2) to study the relationship between knowledge and attitude with the potential to promote early childhood development with the local wisdom of parents
Methodology: This descriptive correlational research was conducted on a population of 40 parents of early childhood children. The research instruments include a general information questionnaire for parents, a general information test for children, an attitude questionnaire, and a potential questionnaire for promoting child development. Which had content validity with an item-objective congruence (IOC) of 0.67-1.00 and reliability coefficients of 0.80, 0.84, and 0.88, respectively. The statistics used in data analysis were descriptive statistics and inferential statistics with Pearson's correlation.
Result: The results showed that: 1) the level of knowledge (M=22.20, SD=0.48), the level of attitude (M=3.34, SD=0.43) and the level of potential to promote early childhood development with parents' local wisdom (M=3.13, SD=0.38) were moderate, and 2) knowledge (r=0.42, p-value<.001) and attitude (r=0.51, p-value<.001) were positively correlated with the potential to promote early childhood development with parents' local wisdom. Statistically significant.
Conclusion: The level of knowledge, attitude, and potential to promote early childhood development with local wisdom of parents is moderate, and knowledge and attitude are related to the potential to promote early childhood development with local wisdom of parents.
Implication: Parents should be trained to increase their knowledge and build a good attitude in order to develop their parents' potential to promote children's development with local wisdom through creative play in daily life.
