FALLS PREVENTION MODEL FOR ELDERLY BASED ON NEW NORMAL COMMUNITY IN MUEANG PRACHINBURI DISTRICT PRACHINBURI PROVINCE

Abstract

Falls are the second leading cause of death among the elderly. Secondary from transportation accidents in 2021, delivering elderly people in the emergency medical system. Total 119 people. This research was to develop a fall prevention model in the elderly by using a community based on a new way of life of Mueang Prachinburi District. Prachinburi Province It's research and development. The sample groups were representatives of the elderly/elderly caregivers, one representative from public health personnel/village health volunteers, one representative from the network partners in the community, total of 39 people. Period of study January - October 2022. The research instruments were the questionnaires, interview forms, falls prevention model for elderly, and the outcomes were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t – test and content analysis.

          The results of the research were as follows: 1) The top five problems for falls were: have fallen before 69.13 %, ladder damaged 66.07 %, vision problems 65.31 %, slippery toilet 64.54 %, and folk mess 60.20 % 2) the falls prevention model for elderly based on new normal community in Mueang Prachinburi District Prachinburi Province together to solve problems, 3) The results of the experiments that after of training, showed falls risk were significantly improve (p value<0.001), and 4) The results of the of the assessment of the usefulness and feasibility showed that the usefulness of the model was highest level (= 4.66, SD= 0.49) and the feasibility of the model was highest level (= 4.72, SD= 0.38). Recommendations for network partners involved in the prevention of falls in the elderly The results of fall prevention should be expanded and monitored for the elderly in the community.
